A collection of Story Starters created specifically as a teaching and writer's workshop resource. Written basically, one paragraph per day, these paragraphs were written as a precursor to my Daily Pages ala the Artist's Way.
Welcome to The Starting Paragraph
This all started when I read about a competition for writing "the worst opening sentence" for a story*, so I thought I ought to try that out, but like all things, after a time, my idea changed.
It morphed into just writing an opening paragraph, "The Starting Paragraph," any beginning paragraph, and hopefully, a good one, at the rate of one paragraph per day prior to writing my morning pages ala "The Artisit's Way."
From that I put an initial collection of 75 paragraphs together, outlined the relevant pedagogy to use as a teaching resource, and posted it online. Once done, my target goal became one hundred story starters and so, with each new day, week and month I add one or two more.
For now, feel free to browse, comment on, or develop any of these paragraphs, I'd really be interested in what others can do with them.
Once again, "Welcome"
